@FlyAirNZ @Boeing 767-219ER ZK-NBA. NZ’s first 767 delivered in September 1985. The 767-200 was used on routes within Oceania and Australia. ZK-NBA served Air New Zealand for 20 years. ‘Aotearoa’ was retired in March 2005 after flying the Auckland-Sydney-Auckland route for the last time. Here, ZK-NBA ‘Aotearoa’ is seen flying over the Pacific where it served many island nations.
Two @flyPAL Philippine Airlines flight attendants chit-chat as they walk away from their DC-8 after a long flight. They are wearing the 1978-1984 uniform. In the distance, a China Airlines - Boeing 707-320 roars on takeoff.
@flyPAL Philippine Airlines - @Airbus A300B4 on finals at Manila’s runway 13. The old Manila Domestic Airport ramp is flanked by more PAL aircraft gearing up for domestic sorties.
MNL - Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Terminal 1), 4th level. This is where the airline offices, chapel, and airport management headquarters are. Below to the right is the check-in lobby. Terminal 1’s Brutalist architecture may be outdated by today’s standards but I admire it as long as the structure is well-maintained. In this age of mammoth glass-and-steel airports, MNL Terminal 1 remains one of the few airports which still has the classic feel of the 70s and 80s, that distinct feeling everytime you go overseas by air.
Timetravel Tuesday. @flyPAL Philippine Airlines - @Boeing 727-200 (N752RW) on finals at MNL - Ninoy Aquino International Airport. In the distance is the old Manila International Airport terminal (1972-1985). A Singapore Airlines - McDonnell Douglas DC-10 joins a couple of PAL jets; a 747-200 and a BAC 1-11. The grass in the aerodrome were taller then because it was rarely trimmed.
